6th grade pre-algebra, but same.

The format of these reports look very different than previous years. They used to have item level detail, maybe that comes later?

From the QR codes on page 2, I think it implies that we'll get the item level data once the scores are finalized.

New this year, the VA state legislature passed a bill requiring all VA school districts to automatically enroll in advanced math all students in grades 5-8 who score in the top 25% of all students across the state. Parents can opt their child out. I have been told this will greatly expand the number of Arlington students who are enrolled in advanced math, but I cannot find data to back that up. I don't believe APS has announced how they will implement this. For example, will there be more students in intensified math 6, or will APS add a second advanced math class that is between the current math 6 and intensified math 6?

"A. Each school board shall develop and adopt a policy that sets forth the criteria for students in grades five through eight to be eligible to enroll in advanced or accelerated mathematics. Such policy shall, at minimum:

1. Require any student enrolled in the local school division in grades five through eight who earns a scale score on the end-of-year Standards of Learning mathematics assessment that is in the statewide, grade-level upper quartile to be automatically enrolled in advanced or accelerated mathematics during the following school year, provided that such class or course is offered and available;

2. Require that parents be afforded the opportunity to opt their child out of any automatic enrollment otherwise required pursuant to subdivision 1;

3. Establish multiple additional pathways to enrollment in advanced or accelerated mathematics such as teacher recommendations, parental recommendations, student preference, or student aptitude as demonstrated through other means of evaluation such as grades, other standardized testing, portfolios, or observation; and

4. Require that the parents of each student in grades five through eight be annually notified of (i) the criteria and process for enrollment in advanced or accelerated mathematics, including automatic enrollment and parental opt-out, as set forth in the policy; (ii) the importance of middle school mathematics coursework; (iii) the impact of middle school mathematics coursework on the high school mathematics coursework sequence; and (iv) the mathematics courses available within the school division."

There's no such thing as intensified math 6. There's math 6 and pre-algebra (covering math 6, 7, 8).

Pre-Algebra is math 6,7,8 so they take the 8th grade SOL. Next year they will take the algebra SOL

Thank you to whoever convinced them to get the scores out early this year! It’s so crazy how they want to kids to take the tests seriously but don’t want to tell them how they did.

Can confirm that I found SOLs in "Documents" in ParentVue for both MS and HS.

My daughter's elementary SOL scores were posted today. I think I've seen this in prior threads but can't find it now: what are the score cutoffs for sixth grade prealgebra? Thank you!

APE sent out a statement that scores would be out Friday, but our prinicpal just sent out a msg saying July. So if APS is releasing they have not told teachers

We are extremely pleased to announce that APS will be alerting parents of their students' SOL results early this Friday as a result of our advocacy. We hope this is helpful to families to be informed of their students' progress. We hope, in the future, scores are released as soon as possible so schools can provide opportunities to remediate gaps immediately during the remaining school year and help parents reinforce topics over the summer before starting the next year of content. My kid’s math teacher (6th grade) posted the math SOL result on Canvas earlier this week. I liked her before but I like her even more now!
