If only Long John Silver's could come back, as good as it was in the 1980s.

Arthur Treachers fish & chips!

Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while!

McDonald's does have good coupons on the app. I go there in a pinch since I am a traveling therapist and sometimes I forget to bring my lunch. But I usually avoid it, the food has gone downhill. Even my 9 year old doesn't like eating there.

This. I assume Taco Bell has a huge chunk of that market and McDs wants more.

My high school sons and their friends love to go to McDonalds - they tell me there are lots of coupons on the app, and certain meal deals certain days of the week. They are all cheap and fill up there compared to Shake Shack prices which are shameful considering their food isn’t that great, either (Five Guys is also much pricier than McD’s but I do think their food is better - but teen boys value quantity and price!). Maybe the late night market appeals to my sons and friends

Is that a pic from 20 years ago?
Or a pic of an actual hamburger that's been around for 20 years?

McDonald's hamburgers don't get moldy because they're so thin they dehydrate instead

Their target customer is a fast food eater, who may want to eat at hours you consider to be odd, due to the fact that their life is not like your life.

If the food was remotely edible maybe I'd go more often and I'd definitely order something for myself. I used to get the salad or the grilled chicken, neither of which are available anymore.
Two kids' meals and one coffee comes out to $16 with tax where I live, so they're getting plenty for me utilizing their free play space.

They aren't available anymore because people don't go to McDonald's to order salad. Their salad is going to be crap compared to places where it is reasonable to get a salad. Same with a grilled chicken sandwich. People are going to get the Big Mac or some chicken nuggets, or won't go.

Except the salad eaters are often the ones paying for the chicken nuggets — so without a decent salad, Chik FIL A then becomes a better place to grab a quick meal.

Teens barely eat McDonalds. In my area it is 30+ year olds, very overweight individuals of any race, usually one or two adults in the car

The couple of times I tried in the last two years, the drive-thru line is not worth the wait. Then if aim not saving time, I'll pick up something pre-made at the grocery store.

They should simplify their menu and up the quality.
