It’s ugly on the outside. Inside is not bad. Many people with kids wouldn’t like 2 bedrooms on the top floor and 2 in the basement.

For me, a few personal dislikes. The ugly style gambrel(?) roof. That would be a non-starter.

Second, the topography. It looks like 2 bedrooms on the front door entry level. 3 on the top level, with living in-between. No thanks.

I also don't want to go around the block and access an alley to get in and out of my house every day.

However, someone willing to overlook these things gets a great deal in a nice CC neighborhood.

Parts of nova seem to be struggling too (Falls Church feeding into Justice / Falls Church High, S Arlington also seeing price decreases, etc to name a few) but it does seem like the premium nova areas are still holding strong + seeing price escalations whereas in moco you’re seeing slippage in CC, Bethesda, etc.

It sold for $150,000 more than last sales price 6 years ago. Hardly cheap. In DC condos sell for less than 2019 prices in some sections.

Two "bedrooms" are in the basement, and the layout wastes a lot of space with that "sitting room."

Kensington is not Chevy Chase.

That one is almost on Connecticut Ave.

It looks like a raised ranch where you have to go upstairs to get to the kitchen everyone hates those.

Property records plus google suggest it's a fed + think tank couple, so unlikely a teardown. It would be a challenging lot for a builder anyways.

The fact that it is hideous with zero curb appeal is a factor.

Kitchen and baths are gut jobs.

The photos are nicer than it actually is.

Large purchase items will be up soon.

Alley driveway might be issues with easement/shared ownerships

It’s odd…a semi-detached home right off CT Avenue and Jenifer street NW just sold for $1MM (like last week) and it needs a complete renovation.
