On the DVT thing….dont most people stay seated for 6-8 hours on a red eye? I know I’m not getting up and walking around.
Well from now on you're standing up and walking around every 2-3 hours, PP. Anyone can suffer from a lethal DVT.
This is a very strange post. You have no authority over or knowledge of what anyone else is doing.

I think it really depends on how much do you want to feel like shit for the rest of your trip? Benzos tend to have a pretty long half life. You can't just turn them off when you land in Sydney.
If it's a long leisurely vacation, sure. I would take a pill or a couple of drinks if I knew I could I sleep it off. But by doing that you're turning a 15.5 hour flight into a 72 hour event. And it would need to be a very leisurely trip for me to give up 2 or 3 days of recovery for the little buzz of benzos or alcohol on a long flight. My preference is to be in the time zone and feeling good as quickly as possible - and benzos and alcohol on long flights are delaying that for days.

Don't do that to yourself.
