Are you saying that when you pray, you aren't praying to God in heaven and you think that maybe other people aren't either? If so and if you're right, then praying to God is not necessary. Thinking intensely about people is all that's needed, right?

Non-religious people do this all the time.

I’m not the PP you’re responding to, but just want to say that prayers and loving thoughts for the well-being of others are all beautiful, whether you direct them to God or not. BTW, you would probably consider me a “religious person”, but please know that I have my doubts as well as my prayerful moments. God hears my prayers anyway.

So you do still pray to God and believe in Him.

If there is a God. At any rate, praying makes you feel better and that's a good thing.

Thank you, PP. This is so beautiful and full of love, especially asking Allah to make our children compassionate.

The rosary is pretty generic. Also very Catholic and there's no indication that OP is Catholic.

People say Novenas for lots of things. Plus, they are very long -- nine separate occasions of prayer. I think Novena is nine in Latin. It's a Catholic thing, like the Rosary.

Praying Psalm 91 (“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High…”) is something we do for family members. It’s a really powerful passage of Scripture.
