Estimates are that 25%-40% of women and 50%-60% of men will have an affair during the lifetime of their marriage.
This makes a lot more sense to me and is more in line with the % of first marriages ending in divorce.
You have to break it down by age and gender. Women are more likely to have affairs when they are younger(under 35) and men are more likely to have affairs after 45. Though your numbers are crazy. The percentage of men and women actually have affairs are very similar.
