That’s fine, but Tulane and Wake aren’t safeties for most students so these examples aren’t really relevant to this thread.

It's not a safety just because you gave it that designation and your kid got in.

WL... They are waiting for you to write a letter of continued interest or your counselor's call at this point. If neither, rejected.

This was four years ago. Wrote a LOCI.

Why would college counselors make blankets like this that are easily proven wrong? Not to mention, for some families college visits can be cost prohibitive. There are a lot of very large public universities with high admit rates that absolutely do not weigh demonstrated interest (I actually consider it one characteristic of what makes the school a safety).

UGA isn’t a safety


DP, but the point is clear: nearly all public universities, regardless of selectivity, don't consider demonstrated interest.

If it's a safety then it's a 75% admit rate. They simply do not care about "interest".
