That is just silly.

It is not. Anyone who still supports the KC during this period hates America and the arts.

NP. I have friends who are musicians at the Kennedy Center. Honestly, I think you are being short sighted. And wrong.

I hear what you are saying but we have to start boycotting and resisting somewhere. Some many of us wonder how things got so bad right in front of peoples eyes in 1930s Germany. Yes, that's a slight projection but sitting back now because a few may lose jobs vs allowing hatred and censorship of our arts as the direction of a President seems like you're allowing things to happen right in front of your eyes.

This year wasn’t great. It’s never great.

Sound of Music and Les Mis for the 2nd time in 3 years?

KC has always been the lamer option.

Well, it's never been avant-garde or risky. It's always played it safe.

It’s not a sacrifice, because the line up is terrible (and has nothing to do with Trump).

Wolf Trap, on the other hand, looks better than usual.

Agreed!

Wolf Trap looks horrible as usual.

+1
We live nearby and always wish they had a more appealing lineup. There is rarely anything there that we want to see.

I don't think the lineup is terrible this year but the ticket prices are insane. We usually go to at least 4-5 shows per season but this year there's nothing compelling enough to spend $50 per ticket to sit crowded on the lawn and be subject to blazing heat and/or pouring rain.

Putnam County Spelling Bee was terrific. Schmigadoon was imperfect but it was something new.

SMH. we’re talking big picture here.

So when it’s Fed workers we are not talking about the big picture and should have empathy and consider individual workers and their feelings but at the KC who cares if we all stop going and the place goes under and many people in the arts lose their jobs?

+1. Saving my money for the National, Arena, Signature, and the many other local theaters that haven't been destroyed.

Same here. Especially since many are in financial turmoil now that the NEA is being forced to pull their grants.

They were discovered to be overun with debt and financial turmoil from the past 4 years.

Wasn't the drag show in question geared towards kids?

That is the issue.

I love Wolf Trap but, hate the drive to and back home ( live in Silver Spring) That parking lot is enough to scare me away from performances!
