When I see boys in dress shorts I always think of Prince George when he was young, and how I always called him Little Lord Fauntleroy in my head.

Ahh, I loved that book!

Polo and khaki pants with dress shoes or sneakers that are not yet destroyed. No blazer necessary.

If it’s outside shorts are fine.

Perhaps try a thrift store to find the right kind of clothing that you need. The larger thrift stores often have a great selection of lightly worn, good quality basics for children and teens.

Anonymous wrote:Actually I think polo shirt and dress shorts would look acceptable on younger teens. The standard of dress isn't so much type, as how clean and neat and "wealthy" it looks. A dress short that's in like new condition and neatly pressed will look better than wrinkled dress pants or ones that are a little worn at the ankle. So whatever your outfit, please make sure it's in presentable condition on the day.

“Wealthy” would not equate to a 13 year old wearing shorts, no matter how nicely pressed they are. Wealthy kids have dress pants because they need them pretty frequently.

Sorry! I was picturing a preppy outfit like what pro golfers wear since it’s daytime and June and outside and the kids are 13 and they own the shorts already! But I am happy to get them pants.
