We do know multiple families from our neighborhood with parents who teach at Blair and they've been there for 1-2 decades each-- which must say something about how it is as a workplace, or you'd think they'd have moved on by now. There are two magnet programs, a STEM magnet and the CAP humanities magnet. It is huge and diverse. We think it's pretty great. Counseling may be the weakest part of the place in my kids' experience, but they haven't had major issues for which they needed the counselor so it's a little hard to say.
FYI No one calls CAP a magnet. “The magnet” at Blair is the stem magnet

On Reddit, they will talk up MCPS no matter what — no matter how bad the school is — talking about how it’s “one of the best school systems in the nation.” No one can be honest and unbiased when it comes to MCPS. I never see this issue as much online with other local school systems. Can anyone tell me why?
No one here knows what you're talking about.
MCPS does consistently send kids to Ivy colleges and national awards, though.

comments. Trying working 80 hr work weeks and having admins treat teachers as they are the juvenile delinquents and treating criminals as they are above the law. Teaching in mcps is actually exhausting and toxic.
