Never flown through Newark. What is it that makes it bad?

Reagan is great.

Don't feel great about it. Booked our August trip out of IAD even though DCA is cheaper and easier. For a funeral next week, we're flying out of DCA bc IAD would be atronomical, but flying home to IAD bc I didn't feel good about arriving at DCA late at night (seems better to fly out of DCA during daytime that arrive at night).

DCA has the only direct flight from this area to my parents’ closest airport, so I still use it, but I was already a nervous flyer so it does give me pause.

And IAD is most of an hour away from me. DCA's just 15 minutes. Someone can do the math.

The math is a benefit of 45 mins each way so 1 hour and 30 mins total.

Cool, now do the statistical/ actuarial math of the risk involved in 90 minutes on VA highways vs 15 minutes mostly down RCP followed by a takeoff from DCA.

I think about it, but it hasn’t actually changed my behavior. DCA is still usually cheaper and better times for the routes I need.

10, odds are still extremely low comparatively.

Infinitely better than IAD or BWI.

Just flew into DCA. We actually had to do a go-around on the landing on the way in. I'm not worried about it at all -- plane crashes are quite rare statistically, certainly much less common than car crashes, and I drive all the time.

3-4 DCA
2-3 if I ever have to do Newark

I'm not a nervous flyer but I will be avoiding DCA if at all possible, especially coming back and landing

3. Avoid.
