Ah, I see what happened here. You think that the only way for a person to know something is to experience it personally. Reading can help you! Try it! There's been a ton of press over the last year about the weight of modern cars (EV and SUV) vs the strength of guardrails.

I do kind of enjoy seeing them at gas stations and watching the horror on their owners faces as the numbers on the pump tick up and up and up.

Consider it a stupid tax.

The worst are the trucks that take up the entire lane or parking spot and make it harder for those driving normal cars to drive.

I live in NC now and these stupid things might as well be the state car. Everyone has one. You just stay away from them.

+1 this trend stopped me from considering lower profile cars

Broad statements about how truck owners rarely use these to capacity come across much like complaints that fancy kitchens are often owned by non-cooks who only order out. They're ignorant judgements - useless noise.

Most of the guys I know drive with empty beds 85% of the time, but the 15% they do use it are frequent enough to warrant or demand consideration. There is often a reason people spend the money on these vehicles, though I'm certain there are outliers.

Actually yes, you can blame the pedestrians when they walk in front of a moving vehicle. A co-worker of mine hit and killed a man one morning on the way to work. The pedestrian was deemed to be the one at fault.

The majority of truck owners never use the truck for its intended purpose. They just like driving big ass trucks.

So if a vehicle like this is stopped at a light or stop sign, and I need to cross the street in front of it, what is it you expect me to do? Using the cross walk in front of the vehicle will put me completely out of their line of sight, and my 6 year will barely even come up to where their grill starts? Am I supposed to just wait for another light cycle or for them to go through the stop sign? Cross and trust they aren't making a right on red or will stay at the stop sign long enough for me to pass? Pray they have working cameras and sensors to alert them to objects in front of their vehicle that they can't see because it's designed like a tank?

I think common sense tells you NOT to drive a vehicle that will eliminate your ability to see a person crossing in front of it at an intersection. But apparently that's fine and I'm the crazy one for being scared of it. Hmmm.

Most American cars suck compared to their overseas competitors. And their pricing structures too.

Why in the wired dies Chevy give $10,000 discounts instead of just pricing the vehicle correctly.

We have had many cars and tons of ford 150s for horse trailering. American cars are unreliable crap

There are so many illegal ones out there where you can't see the driver.
