I put mine in an ultra-covering raincoat with hood, because he has a very thick double coat that is very difficult to dry, and if it doesn't dry, his skin can get infected. Next time ask the owner to provide you with something like that. We went for a long walk at midday, and all I needed to do was dry the bottom of his legs, belly and snout.

I prefer this calm steady rain to a thunderstorm (I know getting struck by lightning isn't common, but it is a risk). None of us are made of sugar; we won't melt in the rain.
