It is really weird today. Usually when we get those absolute downpours with the skies opening like someone dumping a bucket of water, it moves on and that's it for the day. Today we've had that happen like 4 separate times. It clears up for a bit, and then again it's like standing under an open tap.

It's like the intro scenes to WaterWorld! I'm worried it's so much the storm drains will be overwhelmed and the trees will start toppling over because the ground won't hold the roots or the base will get soggy.

What is this weather? It pours then stops. Is it just the absolute bonkers humidity in the air occasionally pouring out all at once??

I put mine in an ultra-covering raincoat with hood, because he has a very thick double coat that is very difficult to dry, and if it doesn't dry, his skin can get infected. Next time ask the owner to provide you with something like that. We went for a long walk at midday, and all I needed to do was dry the bottom of his legs, belly and snout.

Not PP but my dogs, both of them, would give a big old "hell no" to such an an outfit.

Thank goodness I don’t grow lavenders.

I finally, just now at 6:30 pm, got my dogs to go out into it long enough to get them to go #2. It stresses me out for that reason. Other than that, I love rain and find it relaxing.

I have to be at work in DC at 8am and live in Manassas though, so if it is still raining at rush hour tomorrow I'll be hating it.

I prefer this calm steady rain to a thunderstorm (I know getting struck by lightning isn't common, but it is a risk). None of us are made of sugar; we won't melt in the rain.

See, I'd prefer to have shorter periods of intense rain and thunder than the constant medium drizzle. I have dogs though who are used to 2 hrs of walking a day so a day like today is the pits. Usually I'd wait til the rain passes but it doesn't seem like that will happen anytime soon. Towering them off but still having that wet dog smell isn't great either.
