Solar is very viable. Oil and gas is not propping up solar and wind. TX has more renewable energy than any other state for a reason. It's not because the politicians love it. It's because it's reliable and cheap.

No it is because T Boone Pickens convinced Texas legislators that peak oil is coming and we need to subsidize all this renewable energy.

T. Boone Pickens wasn't wrong. The days of easy Texas oil are already gone. Now it takes a lot more work, hydrofracking, deep wells, offshore etc. People who think oil just magically comes from rocks and is in endless supply are out-of-touch fools.
