Apart from being a loud boor on the take from Comstock, Pekarsky has a low IQ, was completely ineffective as a school board member, and has done little of note in the state legislature.

James Walkinshaw is a much better candidate. He was the former Chief of Staff to Connolly and got Connolly's endorsement when Gerry announced he was stepping down. He supports Democratic values, but doesn't treat support for labor as an excuse to haul in money from casino operators who want to encourage gambling, bring drugs and crime into a part of NoVa where they don't even live.

Her fellow former School Board member, Delegate Laura Jane Cohen, has also endorsed her.

Just received Stella's VERY expensive mailer in the mailbox today. Why does she keep calling herself an "immigrant" on one side of the mailer and the "child of working-class Greek immigrants" on the other? Those are not the same. She called herself an immigrant in her last election, too.

One thing for sure, she has lots of money. Those mailers are very expensive and hers is an 8x10.

I’m sure she is flush with dirty casino developer money. She has accomplished nothing and it’s weird to me that she is running for congress. She also calls herself an educator but I have never found out what she taught, when and where. And she calls herself an immigrant when she is not.

Descano is a major douchebag.

+ a million. How that guy, who has no discernible skills, keeps getting elected as the CWA is beyond me. Hopefully he doesn't even run.

+1

He hasn’t ever done anything except work in politics. Give me real life experience.

And he was responsible for the bag tax. During COVID.

Point is…I recognize endorsements do carry some merit for a running candidate.

Alternatively, I believe a benevolent leader endowed with true confidence and extraordinary ability would be inclined to showcase some reservation when the opportunity arises to leverage a tragic situation - all for the benefit of his personal ambitions.

I feel like AI bots are more logical.

“When someone endorses a political candidate just before dying—especially a person of influence like a retiring leader, public servant, or revered elder—the endorsement doesn’t always reflect who is objectively the most qualified. It often reflects personal, emotional, or strategic priorities. Dying endorsements are rarely objective evaluations of who is “most qualified.” They’re usually:
• Emotionally charged
• Politically calculated
• Legacy-driven
• Influenced by loyalty, fear, or unfinished business“

People here seem to enjoy the status quo because it makes them comfortable until it doesn’t. Take a leap of faith for God’s sake.

So we knew it wasn't a rogue autopen doing the endorsing.

Surovell is a bad divorce Lawyer working at his daddy’s firm

Guess that is why he is in politics.

Not PP. It means there will not be a regular Democratic primary, but a "firehouse primary." I voted in one a few years ago for a Virginia legislature seat (can't remember if it were House or Senate).

This is run a little differently from the typical primary and may not be at your regular polling site. I think it is run totally by the party.

There is normally not a great turnout. In the case of the one I voted in, the winning candidate had a great turnout from his religious community. It is doubtful he would have won the nomination under normal circumstances.
He did not win re-election.

However, this is not the election. This is a primary. I don't know if GOP will have a candidate or not, but there will be an election at your polling place at some point. I guess that timing is up to Youngkin.

Yes, both parties in Virginia have used this method lately. That’s how Youngkin made it over Amanda Chase.
