I'm 62 and 5'8" -180. I wear a 25 pound vest and walk three miles over a quite hilly terrain. I don't know if its good or bad for me, but it makes the walks harder and more interesting. I walk at a 19 minutes pace.
I go to the gym twice a week where I work with a trainer on weights and balance. After my work out, I walk on the treadmill at a 15 minute pace on an incline.
I like the weighted vest because it makes my walks - which i know very well - more interesting and challenging. Now that its getting warmer, I work up quite a sweat.
