I love the technovorm.

It has no bells or whistles. No hot plate to burn coffee. No timer.

It’s lasting.

I have the insulated carafe one. Comes in 2 sizes. Mine brews 3.5 mugs (Starbucks handled mugs - 11oz ish?). Wish I had bought larger capacity but almost empty nester we will have 1/2 as many coffee lovers.

Technivorm Moccamaster. I learned about here and will never use anything else. When my son moved to his own place, he asked for one as a housewarming gift.

I grind my beans with a KitchenAid burr grinder.
I order medium or light roast beans from Kona or from George Howell.
I use a 5 cup Mr Coffee and unbleached filters.
Go ahead and scoff.

We have the plastic Cuisinart as well. It is either 12 or 14 cups, I forget. It works well. It has a timer. We used to have the Cuisinart grind & brew, but that was loud enough to wake up the baby. We went with the one that uses ground coffee and never looked back. I've replaced it a few times, but it is usually our fault that it breaks. Plenty hot!

Same - I have a different burr grinder, but the cheap Cuisinart drip has been my go to for years. I've only had 2 in the past 25 years and I drink coffee every day.

home any other way.

Can you link to the machine you have? I am looking to upgrade my plastic Cuisinart - I've been pleased with the longevity of this coffee maker, but one with metal parts would be amazing.

This is what I thought too, but I bought one of the Bonavitas they recommended and gave up after the second warranty replacement died. The Moccamaster was worth the extra cost.
