Then Americans realize how beholden we were to China and realize we sold ourselves out as a country a generation ago courtesy of Ivy League MBA’s running corporate America who enriched themselves while sending all of our industry and manufacturing jobs overseas.

Payback time.

Because that is what the GOP designed with creating NAFTA.

Bill Clinton wasn’t the GOP.

Sure, because before long, he will drop every tariff, and pretend like none of this happened.

China announced they were buying 14 Boeing airliners right before they had trade talks with the Trump administration.

Why did they do that?

You can have 3 pairs of socks, not 30.

Or, hear me out, you can have 10 pair of socks ethically made by non-slaves and children.

Say like Darn Tough socks made in Vermont.

Are sudden tariffs the way to achieve this goal? What percentage of the American population can that company provide for? What percentage of Americans should work in sock factories? Do the raw materials originate in the US? If not, is actually better to knit and assemble here?

Now do every other consumable. How much more should a fan belt cost?

Clinton pushed NAFTA.

Clinton signed NAFTA within months of his inaugural. Reagan/Bush negotiated it for a decade before that.

So Clinton made it happen.

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone.

NAFTA has nothing to do with cheap trade from china

The Temu onslaught is the low-value custom free loophole.

Both parties have been involved in the migration of industry and manufacturing overseas, a lot of it was environmental since it was easier to move a factory to Asia than make it clean, and others just ruthless buyers from wal-mart squeezing suppliers and crushing mom and pop competition.

Either waiting out the tariffs or going to lose those sales forever.

Jobs will be lost as well. Do these fools ever look long term at what their ludicrous policies will do to the economy and job loss

Take a wild guess who relies on these cheap clothes. Not households like mine with an annual income of over $400,000.

Do you know how many tons of fast fashion made in China ends up in landfills or dumped in the high desert of some South American countries? Also, do you know how much carbon and chemical pollution fast fashion creates?

We also have tons of clothes available through thrift stores that goes unsold every year.
