Please seek medical care as soon as possible. It is entirely possible this is a kidney problem, and you need to rule it out.

I was recently diagnosed with a kidney disease and only sought medical care because of the sudden appearance of other symptoms I couldn't ignore, but the thought that they could be indicative of a kidney problem did not cross my mind.

I felt perfectly fine not withstanding the symptoms. I now know this is common with people who have kidney disease, which can be a kind of silent killer. I have since read stories of people who finally seek care and are shocked to learn they have end stage renal disease. They were feeling perfectly fine up until some symptom arose that led them to the ER.

You need a urinalysis and you probably need an US of your bladder. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Why have you not already put in a tampon and seen what happens when you urinate?

I had something similar, but I'm 45 and in period, so my periods aren't regular anymore. Like PP, I didn't think they were coming from my bladder/kidneys because of where the trace of blood was when I wiped. They were also very small. I started keeping track of how often it was happening and was just getting ready to call the doctor when I got my period, which I hadn't had for months. It hasn't happened since, although I also haven't had my period again.

But because my period is so odd these days I wasn't as alarmed. If I were in my 30s, I would get to the doctor faster.

bowl and my tracking notes. The more info the better.

There’s no way to know it’s not from your bladder…unless you’ve had a UTI test? I’d get another one. Plus maybe call your OBGYN again to get an urgent appointment. I imagine you didn’t convey your symptoms when you called? My practice has a nurse triage line and they can get you in sooner. I’d try that - or at least ask them for an order for an ultrasound. This really should not wait until the end of the month.

I had a UTI recently and had a small amount of blood in my urine. Since it was a weekend, I went to an Urgent Care. They tested my urine, determined it was a UTI and gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. I had pain too.
