This is not true if her account is set to private.

It may be because of your actions. You began wearing the same kind of lipstick as her, got the same kind of shoes and outfits she wore. If she bought a beige purse, by golly you got one too, and when you did, you would post provocative and bragging statements how fashionable you are.

The woman felt suffocated as you took over her Instagram page, having panic attacks every time she opened her account, horrified at what next thing you might post, taking over her life.

I follow a lot of art galleries, artists, travel places. I unfollow to reduce my feed or because they post too often. I don't care that they follow me.

People are not reading this OP correctly.

The OP's friend is still following her. She is preventing OP from seeing her posts.

I've definitely unfollowed people before, if they're annoying and I don't want to see their stuff in my feed, but I've never removed someone from being able to follow ME.

I haven’t completely removed people, but on Facebook, when I posted there, you could add people to lists that don’t see your posts or totally unfriend them. I have unfriended a lot of people - like when it first came out, everyone was friending everyone. I don’t need Joe Random from my high school taking up space in my brain. He didn’t do anything wrong but he’s not a part of my life.

I have been unfollowing a lot of people from my old town lately. It is triggering for me. I don't think any of them would understand.
