it's not cancer, or AIDS. It's a cold sore. Worst case scenario, you don't have access to valacyclovir and you have a breakout. It's unsightly and uncomfortable for about a week. More likely, you have insurance that doesn't even charge you for the med, which is available as a generic, you keep it on hand, you feel the little tingle on your lip that means you're about to get a breakout, you pop the valacylovir and don't kiss for a few days.
