OP here: we have attended tryouts for all 3, and have been in discussions with coaches/age group Directors of all 3. We’ve been given verbal indication of offers from all 3 for either their 1st or 2nd teams based on DDs first tryout. I don’t know much of anything about any of the coaches but was told I could find information here. I researched old posts but didn’t find anything specific, so thought maybe asking a general question would get me some feedback. In fairness, I’ve heard good things generally about all 3 in terms of development and some negatives as well.

Except MD is now going through tryouts. Also, if you're one of the best, you can make any team at anytime.

If your kid is an absolute superstar with strong attitude, maybe. Many kids need more than one hour of scrimmages with strangers to show what they’ve got.

My daughter had him years ago and liked him. Bethesda generally likes the more technical girls and plays a more possession-based game. The team seems to do well.

Go watch them. That's the only way you will know anything.

Just play at Bethesda. It's only a year. i presume that will be u11 and he's an okay coach. not a big yeller.

Arlington ranked before Bethesda 2014G E1? I've seen both teams play and each other, Bethesda soundly defeated them technically and tactically. However I will say, whichever team your daughter tryout for and makes, she will be learn and develop significantly with either team. You cant go wrong with that.

sort of a troll flex here OP. if you already live in Montgomery County, your DD is a 2015 and one of the top 3 players, you'd have already done your research and picked one of the three as offers have already gone out. Asking strangers on DCUM?

They are new to the area. All teams will take ab additional player if they are good enough, even after tryouts.

2014 DD dad here, I would think Arlington offers the most sought after team and likely the hardest to get on as they have 5 teams and an ECNL pathway. I have heard Arlington has been swamped with kids at tryouts. So, that bodes well for them.

After Arlington, I'd rank Bethesda, then McLean.

Although tryouts are practically over, you can just contact the club and attend a practice. Depending on the club, just contact the coaches and you will likely be directed to a 2nd team practice and then seek the coaches feedback and go from there. Kids have been coming out to our 2nd team and they have directed them up or down a level as needed for the next practice.
