Yes, it’s becoming less relevant.

And Strikers have annually become more brazen in their bracket manipulation, that everyone from NY scouts and D1 coaches to parents and players have begun to see it as less of a national event than it used to be.

Speaking from the girls side. It’s still a strong showcase. Does it compare to ECNL events? No. But the fact that many top ECNL and GA teams still compete in it make it an attractive showcase for schools to recruit from. (It also doesn’t conflict with any of the main ECNL or GA showcases). So. If your team is in the top 4 flights and playing in the prime field locations, they will get good attendance from college scouts.

What’s the best tournament for my DS team to compete in and get exposure of national caliber?

We’re with one of the prominent Leesburg clubs and our coach and admin staff are guaranteeing we’ll be the best soccer club in eastern USA by the end of next summer’s World Cup.

Loudoun/NVA teams are a cluster F. There are so many kids in that area that you’d assume that with such a large talent pool, they should dominate across the board…but they never do. They are a mid club that should compete at a far higher level. NVA will get butchered in their first season in MLSNext. That should serve as a wake up call. Hopefully for the better.

And BTW, if you are not the club heading to MLSNext next year, then the club you speak of is only prominent in its own mind.

Your DC couldn’t make a top LS team eh, no reason to trash a club out of jealousy. Take a deep breath and relax, it’s kids soccer for crying out loud. Chill!

We’re in an entirely different orbit. One that makes me laugh at you.

ECNL is a joke.

"We"? Your KID maybe, not your flabby middle aged self. Get a life.

This wins.

Unfortunately, Jeff cup is a joke indeed by putting 10 flights with NCSL EDP and GA teams 🤫

Only time parents complain is when team does not get into higher bracket. Those same parents when placed in higher bracket will then say this the tournaments of tournaments.

It's always crazy second team parents posting this stuff for a reason. Or subpar first team parents from clubs that never perform well so the parents are never happy no matter what happens all season.

ngl this was funny

Some parents like it when their kids are placed in lower brackets. Gives their team a better chance and looks great on their social media.
“MY KID’S TEAM WON 2nd PLACE AT JEFFERSON CUP”
*post doesn’t mention they were in the 10th flight

First time here, eh?

Get thicker skin. Your kid isn't getting recruited.

Asking people in this forum for their opinion of this tournament is opening the floor gate to a very wide spectrum of opinions and feelings.

I think as the kids get older, you realize that the number of colleges recruiting is not nearly as good as the ECNL events.

I wasn't arguing college recruitment is strong at Jeff Cup. I simply posted what Google stated, which is what most people know, Jeff Cup gives the highest points for teams with regards to points. This is probably more valuable for U-littles and maybe up to freshman (or even sophomore) years. Obviously, ECNL showcases will have much more recruiters from colleges. Jeff Cup is for bragging rights. Showcases are for recruiting.

So Google is your North Star for truth and accuracy. Do you have a real source to reference?

Another person who loves to argue for the sake of arguing.

You got stats from a reliable source? Post it up. You’re the one with doubts.
