What about Go Ape?

I'm the poster who suggested Build a Bear and I just wanted to come back and report on how our party went. We had 24 Daisies (Kindergartners and 1st graders) and our troop leaders went for the top package so that the girls could each pick whichever animal they wanted. A sound and an accessory as well - go for the top package if you can ! It was a 10/10; the girls were so excited. I loved seeing their personalities come out with what they picked and the party was over in 2 hours. The troop leaders served cupcakes outside the store at the end. The girls have been trying to bring their stuffies to school since to show their friends Whatever you pick, have fun! This is such a fun age.

You could also spend some on a service project. At that age, I had my troop make sandwiches for the homeless (we earned a daisy petal doing it)—troop money paid for the supplies and we did an assembly line to make the sandwiches. They liked that and it was a good use of money.

Do you have anyone in your troop who is a doctor. Nurse, FF, EMT etc? They all automatically count as a first aider. Then you could do something like that lazy river in Virginia, or up to water mine park or something. Hershey gives a group discount if you buy more than 20 tickets—it’s a very significant discount. You can do it as a day trip.

Pony rides, Hershey park, Zava zone party…

archery is best for 8 (really 10) and up - you need strength, coordination, and the ability to follow directions.

can you get a group rate on tickets to an amusement park or a theater show? The idea of paying for registration and uniforms is really sweet. but I understand that is hard if kids aren't returning.

There may be a Senior or Ambassador troop that has kids certified in archery.

Daisies are not permitted to do Archery. They can do sling shots but its really hard for them to pull the sling back.

I’m a brownie leader. We let the girls vote on how to use their cookie sales proceeds. This year girls voted for great wolf lodge.

Second this! Our troop loved this when they were that age.

We did dinner and a play before which was fun (you could look at outdoor theaters). Horse back riding. Zoo or aquarium/pay for meals.
When my DD was that age honestly we did some activities you would think of for bday parties with the money (think Chuck E Cheese, skyzone, laser tag). Just anything to spend it if you aren’t planning to try and bring some over to next year. You could do DC tourist type activities (pedal boats, museums).

We bought tickets to Hershey Park for our Daisies and their parents. They had to buy their own tickets for siblings’ admissions. The tickets weren’t tied to a particular date, but we found a date most families were available to go. Each family drove separately, so it wasn’t an official troop outing and we didn’t have to jump through administrative hoops to make it work.

Pay for everyone’s vests and registration fees for next year, then buy as many badges and materials as you can. You can always return them to the Girl Scout store if you don’t end up doing those badges next year.

Then write a justification to carry over the bulk of the funds for next year. You don’t really need to spend them all, you just need to document specifically for how you plan to use them at the beginning of next year. But nobody is going back to audit, so planned plans are good enough.
