Op here, thanks for this point and your are right. This room is small and the bed is a King. So it would be too much!

I think they look very formal, which is not my style. So yes, to me, they look dated and formal. I prefer a more contemporary/transitional look.

Yes sadly dated. The bottom photo would be more dated due to the red trim and the fussiness of the curved lines.
