She got into UVA and was very happy to go because she would only know a half dozen or so kids. I could see how this could be hard for NOVA kids who will know many more.
As it stands (final decision yet to be submitted) she has chosen a school out of area. I think a large part of this is wanting to head off completely on her own.
And ironically, she would have been around more geographically diverse kids at GU. California has the largest number of students at Gu and there are lots of international students and so many states represented. My kid was turned off from UVa because literally every person we met admitted students day was from Loudoun, Ashburn, Fairfax, etc
