Only practicing Catholics are allowed to receive communion?, so that’s probably the bigger hurdle?

"This means that President Donald Trump of the US (in French, États-Unis) will not sit next to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, but could be positioned between the African states of Eswatini and Ethiopia, and not far from French President Emmanuel Macron, who has lately been Trump's major critic."
Eswatini and Ethiopia, lol! He should love that!
On the one hand, this makes sense, and Etats-Unis is farther up than United States which would be at the back.
But why the French alphabet rather than Italian or Latin? I don't know the Latin name of America but surely there is one, in the Vatican.
Because the Vatican is an institution still tied to arcane traditions of the past, and for centuries French was the language of world diplomacy.
Shouldn't Americans be relieved that this allows their President to sit further forward than if English or Italian had been used? Latin would only have bumped them two alphabet letters![]()

I think the Devil's Disciple should not even be allowed anywhere near St. Peter's Basillica.
They should sprinkle some holy water on him and see what happens.![]()
