People shouldn’t make things overcomplicated with Trump. Ego, it’s his ego. He feels that he was never given respect. Not that he ever came close to earning. He is a sociopath and all his actions are very indicative of that.

He was installed to destroy us.
Russia has propped up his business scams and recovery from failure for decades. He owes them and they now work together to benefit a new axis of evil that also includes us becoming an authoritarian mafia state.
Everyone who voted for him was either conned or thinks they’ll be part of the protected, wealthy class. Spoiler, they will not. Only the amoral super wealthy obsequious inner circle will be.

Even if he's technically legally in debt to negative net worth, he still pockets money to spend, and discharges debts in bankruptcy. Stolen money still spends.

Sometimes I really wish we could split into two countries.
The reason we can't split into 3 is that one "country is the cities" and the other is the rural areas. There are very few Res and Blue states.
Except DC, no state is over 70% red or blue

It's religiosity. Not any specific religion, but every evangelical religion. Religion spreads like a virus. It is the original mind virus -- it's a way of thinking that makes a person resistant to reason and focused on spreading it to others.
Religious people are easy targets of demagogues, much in the same way that 419 scammers thrive by running intentionally stupid scams that filter for cognitively impaired people.

Trump is a symptom. The bigger issue is too many are mad they lost the civil war.
The civil war was lost by a small. number of billionaires.
US chattel slavery was a symptom of racism, not the cause.
Slavery itself existed and exists without a racial component.
