I married my college boyfriend and absolutely no regrets.

Regarding the "how do you know if the sex is good" thing. I mean, come on, guys. You ever had someone get you so good you feel like you're having an out of body experience?

We met young enough that I didn’t have any experience beforehand to compare with, so I don’t know what “good” is and I think maybe I’ve never experienced it, but I’ve had my “good enough”.

Even if you find a guy who gives you “good” sex, not just “good enough”, how do you know there isn’t better out there? There is always a guy out there who is better than your guy, so your guy is always just “good enough”.


You don’t know. sex is a total of maybe 1 hour a week at our age. We think it’s good. Hell I think it’s great. Butr The elements of the husband/father/man I am married to the rest of the week matter a whole lot more.

I had several sexual partners before meeting DH. I will say, my first partner (boyfriend for four years) was awesome sexually. We waited 6 months before sleeping together (we were 18 and 20 and both virgins) and because of that we had to be creative and got to know each other very well in some adventurous ways. I slept with my subsequent partners much more quickly, and I think as a result there wasn’t that much variety in what we did. Although there were many, many very valid reasons my first partner and I did not get married, he probably knew me better sexually than anyone else (including DH of 15+ years), and he was the most generous lover I’ve ever had. Not that I’m advocating being one and done or waiting for sex, but just saying… it is possible to be very compatible with your first lover.
