Go onto Redweek and rent someone’s
Marriott Surf Club or Ocean Club unit in Aruba. They are right next to each other, along with the full service Marriott and the Ritz. The Surf Club and Ocean Club are condos with kitchens and washer dryers, and are great for family trips.

Unless you have access to a private charter to get out of Dodge ASAP, you could potentially get stuck on a tropical island with limited resources in the event of a major hurricane. It’s not “a funny time“ to go it’s an irresponsible time to go.
Not all tropical locations are in hurricane zones.

I never get trip insurance. I figure all the money I save by not buying it (and not needing it 99% of the time) covers the very rare time that it might have come in handy.
What happens if you are in a bad accident?
