Not OP but this is me. 2b on top, 3a underneath.
I find that the best product is no joke the same cheap LA Looks X-treme Sport gel all my friends used in high school. Or cheap mousse. But always cheap. The expensive stuff doesn't add anything when your curl pattern just is what it is.
This is me! I've never heard the term "Irish Curls", but this exactly my hair. And I've tried so many products and always come back to the cheap stuff - it seems to work just as well as the $$$ stuff. Now I know why!
Irish curls here. A good wavy/curly cut gets things laying nicely. Otherwise, it just looks ridiculous no matter what I do. Like a sweaty little kid waking up from a nap. I can't even straighten it because the bottom frizzes beyond all control.

30s- op

What do you mean nothing works? What are you currently using? How are you doing it and what are your goals? That’s what I meant by looking at the Reddit forums. I don’t mean specifically the curly girl program, people are honest on what does and doesn’t work for them based on their hair type. I personally find it very helpful.
This is the OP and I did not make that post. What I'm using now works OK, but I wonder if something better and easier is out there. My hair looks dull and lacks shine at this moment.
Are you 2b? It's hard to help if we don't know the details.
I'd call myself a 2a-2b - OP. I have thick, coarse hair. I am committed to my shampoo/conditioner, it works for me (Plaine Products). I mostly hate using multiple products, I like a medium hold. I wouldn't mine trying a spray or something I don't have to put on my hands. My hair looks dull and lacks shine.
Do you air dry or use a diffuser?
