Not too old. Parents will be thrilled they can bring younger siblings too.

We are doing this for our 7 year old at our neighborhood playground. We will plan some party games like a scavenger hunt and hopefully get an ice cream truck instead of cake.

My kid is 6 and has been to a few of these this year and they're a big hit (Chessie's Big Back Yard, Hidden Oaks, and Burke Lake). I can't see any reason they'd change in a year.

I think it’s totally fine for 7-8 year olds.
Mine is 12 now and will still occasionally play on a playground if there is a group of friends. They play tag etc. I wouldn’t do a bday at a playground now.

At 9-10 I noticed some of the girks she had over from school hadn’t been to a playground in years but enjoyed it. It’s sad that elem kids aren’t doing this as much.

Not too old. We did playground birthday parties up to age 8 (or 9?) or so. There was a splash pad, too (summer birthday). The kids all seemed to have fun.
