I am happy that the Pope met with JD Vance. He will speak frankly to Vance about the horrific things this administration is doing. This may be the one time, Vance will willingly agree to listen to anyone who criticizes his views.

I will not judge whether Vance is a "good Catholic" or not. But I will say, that besides disobeying the Supreme Court and disregarding our Constitution, JD Vance and the Trump administration are going against so many parts of Catholic teaching that I can't possibly list them. I'll leave it with just this one: Catholic teaching emphasizes the dignity of all human life.


Do you feel the same about Biden, Pelosi, and other Catholic Democrats? They support numerous positions that are against Catholic teachings.


They support two...abortion choice and access to birth control regardless of status. They certainly haven't been hateful in the way Vance has.

But yes. If the Pole said nah man, you guys are bad Catholics, not gonna see you bid support that. That's the Pope's prerogative.

At any rate, I am positive Jesus would rather I have premarital sex than turn my back on the fundamental elements of Christianity which are compassion, kindness, atonement, and godliness.

Honestly - it is one thing to be born Catholic and disagree with some teachings. Quite another one to convert opportunistically or because you fancy incense and Latin, then start to lecture everyone about how your view of Catholicism is correct and they need to be excommunicated.


So no, and you excuse their beliefs. Good to know.

Not that PP but assume you refer to abortion. It is possible to be pro life but allow that others have the ability to be pro choice based on their own religions. Abortion beliefs differ by religion and are not always as strict. We do not need to make Christian religious beliefs the dominant enforced law on this topic.

This. And bringing politics into religion is not a good look . . . separation of church and state is very American. Vance can be any religion he wants to be, but don't wear it on your sleeve in our pluralistic country.
