The poster did not indicate which sport is at hand. For example if it is baseball, Wake presents far differently than BC. The weather alone is a huge factor. If an athlete has improved and is comfortable with indoor practices and batting cages, maybe BC is a fit. Really need to understand each program. And the athlete’s goals.
One other thing to consider is what happens if your athlete decides to stop playing the sport in college? Will you be able to afford the college without the athletic money?
Ignore this I had two different athletic threads open.
OP says it's D3 so there is no academic money, it's academic merit so it won't go away if the sport stops.
