MYOB.

No kids, but you hang out on a mommy board, telling others to "myob" about your volunteered info?

You calling something a "mommy board" tells me all I need to know about you. You probably also call adult's stomaches tummies.

Moreover, DCUM has evolved to far more than a forum about parenting. Go look at all the boards in the forum index.

Moreover...

I've been here for decades, sugartits. I'm aware that it has "evolved" into being about more, which is to say that there are now categorized threads for topics, like this one for pets, which used to just be part of main threads. But the convos on those main threads were and mostly still are being had by PARENTS and this board is decidedly parent-centric.

So, like, cool that you feel comfortable here, but this isn't a space for designed for you, and maybe you shouldn't come in here all high-and-mighty, acting like the people you're being rude to should "MYOB" about the info you yourself volunteered. You don't have the high ground, or really much ground for making a ranty argument at all.

I'll take comfort in knowing you didn't breed tho. Nice of you. Good looking out there.

Then why are you in this board for parents, you complete and utter weirdo?

This board is for pets.

They're called husbands, right?

We can't figure out how to structure our lives so we could have a dog. Previously we had telework 2 days a week and I think it might have been doable. My coworker just had to give up her 2 small dogs to her elderly parents' farm because the dogs were so depressed about being home alone all day.

RTO just happened a month ago. So why didn’t you get a dog before that? This sounds like a huge excuse.

I have 3 dogs and 1 kid.

The dogs don't have college funds, could always be left home without a babysitter, and didn't require 5 years of daycare. They don't require me to miss work every time they are ill, their average health care costs are <$1000/year, and their sources of entertainment are free.

If childcare, healthcare, and higher education were free/subsidized, I would have had more kids. As a 2 teacher household, 1 was all we could realistically afford during our childbearing years.

Anonymous wrote:This is such an odd post to me. I have kids and pets. I had pets before I had kids. I grew up with pets. I don’t think people who have pets and don’t have kids are not emotionally equipped. They either don’t want kids either at the moment or for life or just want pets.

Pets are also easier, cheaper and fulfill an emotional need.

All of this.

Maybe she found DCUM because there is an infertility forum here and she's been struggling with infertility, pregnancy loss, or both.

Maybe she found DCUM because there is a nanny forum here and she's a nanny.

Regardless of the reason she is on DCUM, it isn't anyone else's business.

Oh lord, this is so DCUM. This is more than enough to comfortably raise kids.

Gosh this is sad. My hhi was 75k when I got pregnant and it’s the best thing I ever did!

I am not childless because I "don't feel equipped emotionally" nor am I childless because I am "too busy or whatever." A lot of nasty judgment and assumption in your language. How about you MYOB?

Fur children lolololololololololololollo
