Except OP has been married 25 years so is 45+. Recurrent UTIs for women 45+ is likely due to perimenopause.

Have you had a ureaplasma test? UTI tests don't pick up all bacterias...sometimes a recurrent UTI is caused by a deeply embedded infection.

They are a potential side effect of some medicines.

For me, it's due to perimenopause. I've found 2 things helpful which others have mentioned: daily vaginal estrogen cream and D-Mannose after sex.

Had a doc appt and mentioned the UTIs, and she suggested estrogen

If they didn't culture it, it may not have been a bacterial UTI.

I had to Google that- no, I definitely don't have a hypertonic pelvic floor issue (none of those symptoms)

Do you have pelvic floor dysfunction? I kept presenting with UTI like symptoms but it was actually a hypertonic pelvic floor. A baclofen suppository helped me.

So why do I keep getting UTIs and what can I do to stop from getting them?

Take a cranberry pill that also has D-Mannose. That resolved my urinary tract issues.

I agree this is effective as a Preventative.

OP hasn’t answered whether she’s had a urine culture for each UTI.

If you do have a positive culture, what is the bacteria? Ecoli? What antibiotic are you put on? How quickly does it come back? Maybe it never went away and another antibiotic is necessary. You need to sit with your doctor and go through the latest culture and see what the bacteria is susceptible to.

(remember d-mannose as a preventive.)
