You may have low or high blood pressure (because of the light headedness). You may have low thyroid - because of your evening exhaustion. Or you may have some other problem that is solvable. Any change in your daily habits is a problem worth looking in to.

Y'all, we are going to live to 100 and you are all saying, for the next half of your life, go to sleep at 6??

I’m 50 and really looking after my heath in a way I never did when younger. I sleep more, eat better, exercise smarter, work smarter, avoid emotional energy sapping situations.

I don’t go to bed at 6 but I would love to sleep at 9. I sleep at 10:30 and may make it earlier once the kids move out.

If I have 50 years left, I don’t need to go around exhausted all the time. At some point, I just stopped fighting all of the shoulds/mental stuff and did what my body needs as the saying goes. I need to make sure the hours I am awake are the best they can be.

Vitamin D and low on iron can make you feel tired all day.

I feel this way but I blame never turning off ever and never living in the present ever. We all have a constant running list of "must do's", "should do's" "would be nice to" and ah sheet "forgot to and now this is urgent"

HRT, which I started at 45, really helped me.

Same here, OP. I am trying to figure out what's going on. It seems to have happened suddenly starting around age 46. Can't stay awake past 10, useless between 8 and 10, and 5-8 pm is also sluggish but I push through because I have teens.

However, I seem to have high estrogen and my doc is looking into that. Bloodwork also fine but check your iron and Vit D. Mine were low. Not sure if that is the whole story, though.

I’m 46 and before 8pm I am broken and can’t do another thing, but only during the week. On weekends I am much better in the evenings. I blame the super stressful, always on, constant decision making job.

I feel this way. I’m 41.

I blame intensive parenting. Moms didn’t used to have to do so much.

Now society is structured around the expectation that we over function for decades.

I’m so worn out.

It's perimenopause. Women have a massive drop in testosterone along with estrogen in our 40's. Add HRT and compounded testosterone and fatigue and achy joints go away.

It is really person dependent.

A healthy person is not so exhausted at the end of every day that they have what OP describes as "debilitating fatigue".

I have horrible fatigue all day long.

You are not well. Obviously.
