NP. This seems like a massive overreaction to OP's legitimate post. Kids making joyful but chaotic noise is world's apart to loud rumblings from a road being dug up. Or at least, it is for me... and most "good" parents.

This. They take the edge off. Ear plugs can be critical for early days mental health. Plus you do want to hear a bit. The ear plugs take the register down enough to semi function

Your baby won't know the difference.

It would be a good idea for you to get a handle on the anxiety before baby is born.

They soften a loft. You can get drapes and felt tiles too if you want to dampen room sounds. The vibrations you will feel. Without relocating it’s difficult to do much more. Heavy area rugs with thick padding may help too

FWIW the baby already hears it and it will be part of their soundtrack already. For you foam earplugs and a white noise machine. Postpartum rest is mercurial at best. Try not to fixate on what you’d prefer with external noise. Will make it harder to live with.

The baby will sleep through it. White noise and ear plugs for you. And I’m sorry! Also, I say this kindly, I wouldn’t worry about preparing to travel now but I would set up a plan in case you have severe post partum anxiety. You want to be able to get meds quickly. It’s also perfectly safe to take certain meds now. You likely won’t recognize you need the meds but if others suggest it, please be open to it. I didn’t start taking meds until my daughter was 6 months old, and I wish I had started much sooner.

Newborns can sleep through anything. My first would sleep in the bassinet with the roomba going by just fine in the beginning, noise sensitivity takes a month plus. I took my 2nd to a handsoff rally with non stop honking and baby slept the entire time.

And the sleep when the baby sleeps is hard to do for a dozen other reasons ( you may want to shower, eat, do laundry, dishes, etc in those moments). If you're nursing you'll be feeding every 2 to 3 hours but in the beginning it's often more like every 2, from start to start and feeding is slow and inefficient so while your baby may be asleep they're not often asleep for long chunks that are easy for you to also sleep.

I completely get the anxiety and the desire to plan and control it all but the construction noise will probably be least stressful thing and staying away from home at that time sounds rough if not necessary

The baby can already hear the noise and is already used to it.
