Actually, it’s chilling because everyone’s social media is already being scrutinized— if this is true. Think about it. How is it possible to ONLY screen the social media of immigrants— without ALSO screening the social media of everyone that these supposed immigrants interact with? How is it possible to ACCURATELY identify immigrants — and only the immigrants — on social media? So ALL of the John Does who are immigrants get screened—and NONE of the John Does who are citizens do? Sure.

Interestingly, some Jewish groups have disavowed this approach. For example, this group quoted in the article:
J-Street, a Washington group which describes itself as pro-Israel, pro-peace and pro-democracy, was quick to disavow the new policy.
"The fight against antisemitism won't be advanced by attacks on 250-year-old cherished American rights like free speech," said the group's president Jeremy Ben-Ami.
"The Trump administration's own appointees have social media accounts riddled with antisemitism, demonstrating how insincere they are in claiming their totalitarian attacks on higher education and immigrants will make Jewish Americans safer and that they are motivated by genuine concern for our wellbeing."
Also, in response to the abduction of the Turkish student in a Boston suburb a few weeks ago, 50 rabbis in the Boston area signed a letter condemning the act and calling for the student's release. They are skeptical about the Trump administration's purported concern about fighting anti-semitism. You can read the letter here. So clearly not all Jews think this sort of thing is a good idea.

So it was okay to be have a Charlottesville which wasn't denounced as far as we recall, but the immigrants can't express anything about Israel or...????

The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion or favoring one religion over another, ensuring a separation of church and state. This is crazy!
