Most of the GA teams in DMV will be light years ahead of the ECNL-R teams in the area, although a step (or three) behind the local ECNL teams.

Agree if you are going to SYC, VRSC, McLean, NVA or Loudoun, go GA. Think the hardest decision would be do you leave Arlington, GFR, Vienna, Stafford RL team for Alexandria.

TSJFC is at least as bad as ASA, maybe worse. And I don't know what to expect from MYS, given that most of their top players stayed at / went to Union. The 2013s, for example, are a mishmash of players from all over the DMV.

Yikes. Why so much TSJFC and ASA hate? Can’t they stage a comeback? Sounds like ASA is investing in some solid coaches for next year at least.

Please ASA, does not invest in good coaching. He has some decent coaches, but most of them don’t have the experience to be coaching at the MLSN or GA level. The dues go somewhere else, this is we’ll know.

McLean’s coaches are gone too though, best went to Union or elsewhere. The club is in serious decline. The GA team will be made up of lower end RL players and NL players who were cut. I do not expect them to be competitive. And I can only imagine how bad the Aspire team will be.

Think you mean top end RL players and NL Players that were cut. Bottom end RL Players will be on Aspire.

Am I missing something but it looks like the coaches are the same exact ones that are currently there.

It would be easier to confirm this if you said which age group but overall, top GA team is going to be a better team and for sure have the best platform for college recruiting if that's a goal of your player.

I believe a lot of PPA players also went to McLean GA teams, there were a lot of them at tryouts anyway? They have some great players but no platform.

If kid is younger GA is going to be hands down better in RL The incoming GA teams have been beating down the future ECNL teams never mind the left overs in RL. Mclean Loudoun and SYC will dominate the area.

Lower end RL players as in their current RL team with little to no additions?

GA is a national platform. RL is a regional one. They serve different purposes. The best is the one that more closely matches your own goals. Playing in college? A national platform will be better. Getting better at soccer? Coach, playing time, fit matter more than league. Spending less money? Regional league is better. We can’t answer which is best until we know what you and your kid want out of soccer.

I would go to the Alexandria tryouts and see what the turnout is like. Probably enough talent from those RL teams to put together a decent GA team.
