We don't have enough manufacturing in this country, especially all along the production chain for all components of a given product. It's not something that can be fixed quickly.

Good. When will John Dickerson and others start working at a Nike factory that used to be in Vietnam? Oh wait they think others should be in the factories getting low wages for long hours.

80% of the jobs in the US are white collar. 10% are manufacturing and manufacturers in the US have more jobs vs people willing to take them. Now we can all looking forward to working in a factory side by side with Jon Dickerson and his family.

The US cannot compete with China in manufacturing unless the US completely guts its regulations. I mean, they're kind of on track to do that - let's be honest - but even then, you have to have a populus willing to work for crap wages, and we don't have that. We don't have a slave labor class in the US. A lot of people like to think the food service industry is made up of slave labor, but they get paid 10000x more than Chinese factory workers. A typical Chinese factory worker makes like $50,000-$60,000 Yuan/year which is just around $6,000-$8,000 USD/yr. PER YEAR. I know someone who only does DoorDash and InstaCart as their jobs and even they make $60k-75k each year depending on how much they want to work.




I've heard some American businesses have been told by China they will no longer receive products because their particular source no longer wants to do business with the US. They expect to go under completely.

Media can always find some analyst to present one side of every issue. It doesn’t mean those analysts are correct or that their opinion are valid.

Media’s goal is to get viewers. If most are saying tariffs are bad, CBS can get viewers by putting up some analysts that say the opposite.

They have blinders on. The farmers who were hurt by it got subsidies from the US govt (ie taxpayers) to blunt the hurt. Are we going to have to give more welfare to farmers due to Trump's actions again?
