All three of my kids loved this game when they were seniors. Of course, the usual suspects will now commence to clutch their pearls.

Do all high schools play, or do only some have this tradition?

I thought it was a local thing. We did not do this growing up and neither did DH. We went to HS in different parts of the country. As a teacher, i only remember hearing about it from my students about 5 or so years ago post covid. Now that my kids are teens all the local schools seem to be doing it.

They are shooting each other with water guns, not in school. The kids we know are done with it by now.

It hasn't started yet at DCs school but admin sent out an email today highlighting the potential dangers. The message included a reminder that weapons (including replicas) are not allowed on school grounds and indicated that disciplinary action will be taken against any student found in possession of a toy gun on campus.

I am not at all sorry that DC has zero interest in participating.

Ours started a few weeks ago. It was not school sponsored or endorsed, and the water guns were not allowed in school. Sure enough, it lasted about 2 weeks before inappropriate behavior got it shut down.

Kids had a blast while it lasted.

Yes, good old fashioned fun where we mock assassinate people and shoot guns. Yeehaw, USA, USA.

My kids all played as seniors. Lots of fun. I've even witnessed a tag or two.

Wastes Police time and kids getting hurt. Times have changed for playing this.
