BRYC has fielded a full slate or pre-ECNL teams at U11 and U12 this fall. We played them a few weeks ago. No holes.
Herndon for some reason did not field teams in the U11/ U12 ages which I thought was required, but they didn't.

There was one mom/dad who were miserable, they always complained and thought their kid was much better than he actually was. Fortunately, they left to join SYC. Other than them, everyone else was nice.

Played against two of their u12B 3 times over the years and they were argumentative imo. Coaches seemed fine.

As a parent from one of these teams, I would be extremely surprised if this were true. They are pretty strict on parent behavior and do not hesitate to banish parents from the field for doing minor things (like telling their own kid they are offsides). I have never experienced loud and rude parents in the sidelines for U10 soccer.

U10G head coach is a good guy, but he is very unclear about what his expectations are to allow a player to develop and move up to the first team. He has been like this for the last three years, and it is infuriating to get him to be clear about what needs to be worked on beyond "athleticism and technical skills." There are girls that have neither and are incredibly slow and have no handling skills, but pass often, that are on the first team, so it doesn't make much sense.

The U10G also lost their second team's coach since he is now the U7G/U8G head coach - and this is a huge loss for the girls, but great for the very littles. The new U10G second and third team coaches are new carry over dad coaches from Spring'25. The second team dad is is friendly to the parents but severely lacking and inconsistent with his coaching and heavily favoring his own daughter on the same team. He's less of a coach, and more of parent, and it's very obvious to us on the parent sidelines. The girls are great players and can easily play without him as a coach, but will thrive if they can find a better coach to replace him. The second team coach has also never coached before which also leaves much to be desired. The third team coach is effective with his strategic plays and calls, but needs to be more vocal/audible.

A lot of SYC left and joined the U10G this season, we also gained a few from the BRYC bridge, and one from TSJFC that was immediately put to the U10G first team.

If that’s the case, do they give you at least an idea of what team they think your kid would be on before you accept the offer? I can’t imagine accepting an offer not knowing if it would be for the first team or the third.

You can ask them for a general idea, but yes, this generally is true: the offer will be for the academy not for a specific team within that structure. When joining were told our kid would start with second team but ended up being with first team mostly but "moved down" on occasion to get reps at a particular position. I think they are good about trying to manage expectations--you have to earn your way to the top and they understand younger kids develop at different stages and they will say the top kids at the younger ages may top out at those ages and lower kids may become the top kids and that's all fine. Objective is to find a place that's appropriate for the player. That works for some families and not for others because they just don't believe their player could top out.
