Not all practicing Catholics —even older ones— are conservative. I wouldn’t have met my DH with a OLD profile set to conservative settings. We’re both Gen X liberal Catholics.

This is OP, and yes, I am a woman. And for everyone saying church, I attend church weekly and am involved in my home parish. Believe me when I say there is no one there. I'm looking for a group that is actually for middle-aged people (not 40+ groups that skew much, much older) or a parish that offers this as a ministry.

I meant to say that just because someone is looking for a catholic match, doesn't mean they want a devout church member, just someone with a catholic background.

Go to Blessed Sacrament church in Chevy Chase and get involved. Hit up Irish bars in the DMV. Take up golf at a country club if you can or public course. Join the Irish American society in DC and go to events. Get to know married catholic women as well- they all know Divorced Catholic men in the area and can hook you up. This group can be cliquey so work your way in. Good luck lady, this group has a lot of issues!

1. sacramental initiation (baptism, reconciliation, communion, confirmation)
2. belief in the Catholic catechism
3. trying best faith to attend Mass weekly

you are correct, every human being - even those who fir into rubriks above - is a sinner; and let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

In reality what actual makes someone catholic? Everyone I know is a hypocrite, or searching for a place to hide their flaws. Why not just search for a good person, regardless of their “brand”?

Are you young enough to have kids in elementary school or MS? Even if you don’t, that would be a good age to volunteer to be a CYO sports coach at your parish school. Our k-8 has a decent amount of widowed or divorced dads (if you would be ok with the latter) and CYO sports is the epicenter of school-year parent socializing in my area.

Otherwise, my tennis and pickleball commitments seem overrun with 40-70 year old men.

I’d second volunteering. I know at least five couples who met directly or indirectly through charitable volunteer work. But I think you have to want to do the work first — it’s not a dating service.

Facebook in general. It's amazing how many middle aged Catholic men from my high school school have friended me looking for wife #2 after wife #1 kicked them to the curb.

Idk about catholics but a good majority of single American Muslim men or women aren't necessarily looking for Muslim matches who are strictly practicing all 50 shades of islam. All they want is someone they agree on basics and can safely present to judgmental members of their extended family back home.
