Disagree. Differentiation would be better for everyone, particularly teachers. Teachers have too many levels to teach now and it benefits no one.

I have to agree with this. I have three kids who went to CESes pre-lottery but it was because all the other kids in their reading group went. They would have been perfectly happy to stay and I would have been perfectly happy to let them if that whole group had remained at their local school.

Now I see why no 3rd grader parents around me talking about CES acceptance or lottery at all. Everyone keep to themselves, and it seems like there are a lot of grief for parents with kids of high score not getting in. My child gets in luckily, and no, he is not 99 percentile. We are local CES school, so competition is a lot less. I wonder if the curriculum at our local CES is different than other CES programs because CES teacher says they are no big difference compared to regular 4th grade curriculum in general.

When the law is just to punish blue states, yes.
FWIW, I think they should have programs that are purely income based, not skin color based.
