This 100%.

I have some of them in my life in the form of family members. If they do join us, like at Christmas, Thanksgiving, or a family reunion vacation, they spend all their time talking about the conspiracy theories. They have no other interests, so they are very boring people.

No, they are paranoid covert narcissists, usually poorly educated in a way that they could be educated but, at every single turn along the way, their insecurity about everything intervened and stopped it and they held on to ideas and mandates that comforted them instead. They have poor social relationships, anemic careers, bad marriages, although they marry like people often.

So, no.

My friend's parents have gone full bore conspiracy theorist and my friend is generally worried for.their safety. Qanon stuff has led them to hard core end times stuff (like they genuinely believe the rapture is imminent) and some of the comments are getting really concerning. She tried ro raise the alarm with their doctors but it hasn't gone anywhere. She's genuinely concerned they might hurt themselves.

They are not fun at all. They tend to parrot each other's paranoia and think they are the enlightened ones who know the truth. They do wacky things and are not spontaneous an d don't like going out in public, unless it's among their people. They are very judgmental and really make bad choices in life. It's a form of mental illness. A lot of them feel like they got a shitty deal in life so they need someone, or something to blame.

There is a secret Russian plot to control President T-rump, and it’s working. This is not a conspiracy-theory, it’s true! Trust me.

I’m not sure how Putin is doing this, but he’s somehow managed to control trump and he’s going to take over America. You can’t deny what’s going on right before your eyes.

The ones that I know sit on a sofa all day and toggle from FB to X to ND with television channels you can probably guess in the background. They are neither fun nor adventurous. They fear going out to get the mail.
