In my experience there were always some rich kids, usually the class bullies, whose parents had pulled it off. Maybe they did it before they got into dcps?

Those families PMO so bad. Clear redshirting. Sounds like OP has legit concerns, I would enroll DD in K and work with her teacher in the fall to make a determination after some assessments. Please don't keep your kid out of school past 5.

This used to be more flexible, but they have really cracked down since Covid be used so many people were asking for exemptions. It is nearly impossible now. Your best bet would be to enroll her in K with supports and then see if the school will let her repeat K.

DCPS does not care about educating anyone, they care about matriculating everyone no matter how much they know and they will not give anyone an extra year of learning - this tracks with the social promotion they enjoy
