I have friends who have parents in similar situations and it seems like the most important thing is to have control of finances so that caregivers or scammers don’t take advantage. The rest is fine, they’ll have problems either way, it’s how much you are invested in solving them. At some point it’s better to be a little removed mentally you know.

OP here, the facility where my mom lives now has both independent living, and assisted living. It doesn't have skilled nursing. So, one option is to move her within the same facility.

Op if she likes her current place, has friends there and is social and will not be changing much except getting more care then keep her there in AL until she really needs someone there frequently. If she’s not particularly attached move her now close to you.

We're having this issue with my MIL. She's in her house, but really needs additional support and she's 15 hours away. Moving her across the country seems so daunting.

From experience, it’s terrible and you will end up traveling there for emergencies at the most inconvenient times. You need to have eyes on the staff to make sure the care is good.

Food not foot, but my parents did complain about their feet too .
