Only a few? Does rest of the players come from elsewhere? A few more from PWSI, still leaves about 10ish from elsewhere. Is this typical?

Developmental players are rostered RL but train 2-3x/wk with VDA.

developmental players at VDA are not actually DPs the way ECNL defines it. they just get to come to practice. maybe, if roster is small, and enough players on VDA get hurt, they may get a chance to play in a real game, but they just get to come to practice up to twice per week for no extra cost to them. then, rarely more than one of them will ever make it onto to VDA for following year bc like most clubs, VDA doesn't promote many players from its feeder clubs after U13. dp is used as a carrot to keep people at PWSI or VSA same as every other ECNL club in our area.

This is the same on the girls side. And actually worse with the influx of fcv and nva girls.

VSA is VDA's trap. old trick. If you are an ECNL and GA player who can't make VDA due to limited space (not because of your quality), you can go to VSA and you may get another chance to get to VDA. Meanwhile, we are recruiting other ECNL players from other teams just we don't have enough space. Nice try VDA LOL.

It’s up to two practices with VDA for the DPs. Not 3. DPs don’t get to play in games though.

DD plays for VDA. We had a DP play for our team recently in games.

When the teams are initially formed at the younger ages majority come from PWSI and VSA. In the older ages they don’t promote from within anymore and look to recruit from outside the club just like most other ecnl clubs.
