+1 DH has joked about “hating” Canadians ever since I’ve known him, with the joke being who would ever hate Canadians because all of our friends from there, and every Canadian we’ve ever met, are so failingly nice. For the US v Canada hockey game he bought a Canadian flag and has been flying it since.

Some of the over all level / but gossip-worthy “social promises” are being kept. That was a a big part of their election-campaign. As PP assist, far as I know, no citizen was aware that Tariff Wars would start ruin the first 100 days of this new leadership. No one knew that the US would start acting aggressive toward the EU and Canada. This is a great surprise to everyone

Good points, and I am a believer in NAFTA; it’s inescapable we are neighbors and we are natural allies due to our common cultural origins. All true.

But can you also agree Trudeau must have had a “Make Canada Great Again” / Canada-first” policy in place when he chose to use import tariffs against China?

I remember. Canada refused to be part of those wars as well.

THAT IS ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT. Canada lost 159 troops fighting alongside us in Afghanistan.

In the Boston vicinity there are streets and other things named after Lafayette if that makes you feel any better.


And his history in the United States saved him from execution by the French during the French Revolution. Which is to say when it comes to these relationships, it’s complicated.

But the trade war is foolish and that isn’t complicated. OP my family will vacation in Canada a few times in this administration, which is all I personally can do because, like most people on this board, I didn’t vote for him.
